Symbol of Faith killer could easily have been one of the best games of 2007. It is, without doubt, impressive on several fronts. But developer Ubisoft Montreal has had some missteps on the way and squandered the enormous potential of the pseudo-stealth action title. A bad story, repetitive gameplay elements, and poor AI lead to the fall of one of the most promising games of recent years. Symbol of Faith killer could be one of the biggest games of this generation. Instead, he became just another title action.
You play as Altair, a member of Hashshashin (or killers), a group of real life made politically motivated murders between the 11th and 13th century located in the Middle East during the Third Crusade, Creed Assassin is full of historical events. Each of the three main cities were well documented and very well recreated. The nine men Altair is charged with dispatching did, in fact, all die or disappear around the time the game takes place. The attention to creating an accurate representation of Jerusalem, Acre, and Damascus is commendable. If it were not for the "anomalies" that hover around the characters, who would have little reason to ever doubt that this is exactly what these cities and people looked like centuries ago.
Although Assassins Creed is an action game, the story plays an important role from the beginning to the end. It is a title of the story-heavy, which shows a weight long term. There is a significant shift in the history of the killer, the guy (if not spoiled by you via the Internet) could blow the lid that covers the brain. That is, if this major shift is revealed towards the end of the story, not in the first five minutes. Ubisoft's decision to introduce the only surprise only a few minutes assassin creed costly. Imagine if you were watching the sixth sense to ten minutes at the film said Bruce Willis is a ghost. It blunts the rest of the story.
This is exactly what happens with the killer. moments Altair is well told and interesting (though perhaps a little too removed), but when the data "twist" come into play, the game stops. During a gaming 10 or 12 hours experience, which becomes grating. So much so that all the elements of the story begin to play smart against killer religion, instead of rising to as high art seems to have foreseen.
